This is the TCC lightweight competition bumper Version 2. This can be used as a front and/or rear bumper. Configure it to your wishes, choose your overall bar width (3-1/2” wide up to 8” wide). Materials for the bumper bar include one Delrin rod and two identical length polished aluminum tubes. Delrin is far more resilient and light, use this for practice and everyday driving. The aluminum tubes are extremely light and count as metal bumper points in Sorrca rule sets, but they are not even remotely tough, save these sections for comps. These bumpers are handmade by me here at “The Crawler Connection”. I hand-sand, hand-file, and polish all components. An optional spacer/fairlead unit can be purchased separately in chassis widths of 67 and 70mm. Get that here: https://www.thecrawlerconnection.com/products/tcc-fairlead-chassis-spacer?_pos=1&_sid=dc899ab9c&_ss=r

This gets sandwiched between the chassis rails and bumper mounting tabs to ensure rigidity and/or route your winchline if you are using a hidden servo winch. Bumper tabs include holes to hang D-ring shackles.

Installation Tips:

Mount the tabs to your frame first. Remove the setscrews from the tabs, don't lose them! Make sure the tabs are level with each other. Take a 1/16th" drill bit in a handheld drill, slide the Delrin crossbar into position where you want it, place the drillbit in the set screw holes on the tabs and drill a small cup in the Delrin bar for the setscrews to rest into. Use loctite when reinstalling the setscrews.

For those installing the aluminum tubes instead, just repeat these steps in the same manner, however I have included 2 M2x4 screws to use in place of setscrews, in case the setscrews cannot properly secure the aluminum as-is. Thanks and enjoy!

Version Notes:

Version 2 slides the mounting holes on the bumper tabs forward a bit, allowing the bumper to be placed further back into the frame. Tab material thickness has also been increased for durability, but with a negligible addition of weight.
